Lakeside Harley-Davidson

In the heart of Essex lies a little bit of the Milwaukee legend in the bespoke designed Jardine Motor Group’s Lakeside Harley-Davidson showroom and workshop.

Lakeside Harley-Davidson are devoted to the Milwaukee legend, a living piece of American history. Their passion for this iconic motorcycle brand, dating back to 1903 when four ambitious entrepreneurs built the first Harley-Davidson® motorcycle inside a small wooden shed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is unmistakable

As part of Lakeside Harley-Davidson redevelopment the new showroom was to be 30% larger than the existing showroom and include a new spacious state-of-the-art Harley-Davidson workshop. Pitkin & Ruddock was asked to design and install an energy efficient air-conditioning system that could incorporate a modern heat recovery ventilation system to complement the attractive building and internal space of the showroom. In addition to a heating only system to the workshop areas.

It was essential to work closely with both the customer and local building contractor to deliver an energy efficient solution to the buildings heating and cooling demands, working alongside other trades and within tight timescales.

Our specification included streamlined Mitsubishi Electric ceiling cassettes and a Lossnay energy saving heat recovery systems to manage the mechanical fresh air ventilation. Mitsubishi Electric’s range of Lossnay mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR) systems are designed to supply fresh air into any building whilst simultaneously extracting stale air and, most importantly, recovering valuable heat energy for maximum efficiency. Not only do they provide a constant supply of controlled, pre-heated / pre-cooled fresh air to buildings, improving climate control, but customers benefit from reduced energy bills.

Heather Whittaker, Brand Manager was delighted with the turn out during the Grand Opening. “We have been overwhelmed with the level of support we’ve received from our customers and the general public. Everyone loves the new dealership, which not only looks stunning but offers a whole new vibe.”

The installation was of the usual high standard from Pitkin & Ruddock, much of which could be seen by the end user. The majority of indoor units were of a four-way cassette style and the heat recovery ventilation units were all power coated as to blend in to the decor. Our specialist trained installation engineers completed the work on time and within budget whilst working alongside other trades people.

Pitkin & Ruddock has a vast experience of commercial premises refurbishment and are able to offer state-of-the-art technology that will provide long term efficiency and subsequent lower running costs, with the added comfort of a seven year warranty for this equipment when maintained by our skilled maintenance department.
